Pavan and I attended a baby shower last night. We had such a great time! It was for two of my former students. Yes, L and J (the parents-to-be) met in my class! I can't believe how much has changed in the last year. I was feeling pretty nostalgic last night. How things have changed. Seeing a bunch of my students last night and remembering when I first met them, I never would have pictured my life to be the way it is now. As hell on earth as is can be at times, I wouldn't change it for anything. I truly enjoyed sitting with my students, talking with them and laughing at their confessions. (As I am sitting here laughing at what you's did and I had no clue!! Ahh, the joys of teaching adults...Any more confessions you'd like to share?) As I posted last night on my facebook page, I am proud to now call you all my friends.
The hall was so beautifully decorated, I was impressed. The food was good (probably the most Spanish food that I have ever ate in one sitting!). And even thought I didn't always understand what people were saying, the atmosphere was so friendly. I loved getting to meet L and J's parents! And I hope you got a lot of what you need to start with! (I feel bad that I couldn't stay and watch the rest of the gifts being opened, but little man was getting tired! The joys of mommyhood!)
L and J, I truly wish you both all the happiness in the world. I cannot wait to meet Baby J. She's gonna be so beautiful and I know Pavan is going to be excited to have a new friend to play with! When she arrives, enjoy every minute of it. They grow so fast, and love the hell out of her. Listen to advice of others, but follow your heart first and foremost. Do what your intuition says, not the words of others. I love you both and I love Baby J too!
K, C, N, L, J and R, you know who you are, keep on doing what you're doing. You are all such amazing people. I am so proud of you all and how far you have come and as a teacher it's such am amazing feeling to be able to watch you "grow". ,You are all not the same people that I met in Personal Psychology over two years ago! (Yes! I has been *that* long!). It was so great to see you last night!
Here's to many more years of friendship, new additions to our "H" family, sushi dates, play dates and dinner dates. Love you all.
Its Pavan's bath time! Then we need to head out for his visitation today. Say a prayer for us. I attached a picture below of the "pamper" L left on my desk for me in school right after I told my students I was pregnant! It was so cute and I still have it packed away with Pavan's things to save!
